The International Energy Security Research Center of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Social Science Documentation Publishing House recently released the Blue Book of World Energy: World Energy Development Report (2016) in Beijing. The Blue Book pointed out that in the second half of 2014, international oil prices fell sharply, and in 2015 international oil prices continued to fluctuate downward; in the same period, global natural gas prices also fell sharply.

Huang Xiaoyong, dean of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director of the International Energy Security Research Center, said that despite the constant impact of low oil prices, clean energy and renewable energy have basically maintained a good development momentum. Specifically, the development of nuclear power in the world has gradually recovered, and the installed capacity of nuclear power has achieved a small increase; renewable energy generation has steadily increased; in 2015, global wind power installed capacity increased by 17.2% year-on-year.
