Recently, the Russian-Chinese Superconducting Proton Research Center, jointly established by the Russian Joint Nuclear Research Institute and China, has settled in Hefei, Anhui Province, Eastern China.

According to TASS, Kuang Guangli, director of the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that China and Russia have cooperated in nuclear fusion research for more than 30 years, and the partnership between the two countries has continued to deepen. It is reported that the center plans to develop China's first treatment device for major diseases such as cancer within three years. According to the agreement, China will manufacture the relevant systems and components of the new device in 2017, and the two parties will jointly assemble and debug in 2018. Traditional chemotherapy and radiotherapy methods kill cancer cells while killing a large number of normal cells. High-energy protons and heavy ion radiotherapy can precisely target solid tumors and are harmless to normal cells in the human body.

At present, many countries in the world have carried out related research. The Russian Joint Nuclear Research Institute is one of the most representative pioneers.
