    After more than 30 years of construction, operation, and introduction-digestion-absorption-reinnovation, China's nuclear power technology can compete with nuclear power powers in the international market.


For newly-built nuclear power projects, the current internationally recognized technology is third-generation nuclear power. In this regard, China already has two major independent brands-"Hualong No. 1" and CAP1400. These two technologies have complete independent intellectual property rights and fully meet the technical standards and safety requirements of the three generations of nuclear power. "Hualong No. 1" was jointly developed by China National Nuclear Corporation and China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation. Its overall technical scheme passed the review organized by the National Energy Administration and the National Nuclear Safety Administration in August 2014, and passed the review of the International Atomic Energy Agency at the same year.


The nuclear reactor is the "heart" of the nuclear power plant. The expansion of the reactor core of "Hualong-1" from 157 to 177 can increase the power generation by 5% to 10%. While improving the economy, the power density in the core is reduced. Multiple safety indicators, such as the core melting probability and the release probability of a large amount of radioactive material, exceed the requirements of the existing three generations of nuclear power technology.

CAP1400 key safety indicators achieve current highest safety standards


Another third-generation nuclear power independent brand CAP1400 is a passive pressure water reactor nuclear motor type independently developed by the State Nuclear Power based on the introduction of the digestion and absorption of AP1000 technology. It not only fully meets the third-generation nuclear power technology requirements, but also has a key safety indicator that is an order of magnitude higher than the third-generation nuclear power safety standards, achieving the highest current safety standards.


In accordance with internationally accepted standards, National Nuclear Power has built the world's advanced test bench, which has 17 test tasks and 887 operating conditions. It has experimentally verified the passive safety system design and key equipment design of CAP1400, which fully proves its scientificity. And advancement. In September 2014, the nuclear safety analysis report of the CAP1400 demonstration project passed the review organized by the National Nuclear Safety Administration, and the results met the latest international and domestic safety standards.


Based on the characteristics of the passive pressurized water reactor in terms of system simplification, modular construction, and advanced operation performance, CAP1400 also has obvious advantages in terms of economics. Calculated by the demonstration project, the tax-included electricity price of CAP1400 is lower than 0.4 yuan / kWh, which is lower than the benchmark electricity price. After standardization and batching, the market competitiveness of CAP1400 will be stronger.
