Three major nuclear power projects start soon

The reporter of “China Business Daily” was exclusively informed that recently, the National Development and Reform Commission has formally applied to the State Council for approval of the launch of a new nuclear power project. This report is for six units of three nuclear power plant projects that are to be formally approved. The month passes.

However, compared with local governments and nuclear power operators, fluctuations in the nuclear power industry chain have a greater impact on nuclear power equipment manufacturing enterprises. A person in charge of a nuclear power equipment company told the reporter of “First Financial Daily” that this year is the most difficult year for the enterprise. The orders for projects under construction have been almost completed. If the approval of new nuclear power projects cannot be restarted next year, many enterprises Will face a situation of "cut out of food" and no order to do.

After the Fukushima nuclear accident in 2011, China completely suspended the approval of construction of new nuclear power projects. Until October 2012, the State Council executive meeting discussed and approved the Nuclear Power Safety Plan (2011 ~ 2020) and revised the " Nuclear Power Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan (2011-2020) ", China has only gradually resumed the review and approval of nuclear power construction projects.

A person familiar with the matter revealed that recently, the National Development and Reform Commission has formally applied to the State Council for approval of the launch of new nuclear power projects. There have been more than a dozen projects that have been given road signs before. Several units are now officially approved. This time, 6 units were submitted to the State Council. The crew may pass as soon as November.

Since then, relevant national authorities have held nuclear power work meetings several times. In early November, the National Energy Administration issued a reply to the request report of the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission and China Nuclear Group, agreeing that the Fujian Fuqing Unit 5 and 6 unit project will be adjusted to the "Hualong No. 1" technology plan, verifying China's independent third-generation nuclear power technology as soon as possible, and building domestic demonstration engineering. This has further strengthened market expectations of nuclear power restarts.

Lv Xiulei, a senior analyst with CCXI, told reporters that the six units reported this time should belong to the three nuclear power plant projects of Hongyanhe, Shidaowan and Fuqing, with an installed capacity of about 7 million kilowatts.

Among them, the second phase of Liaoning Dalian Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant under the China National Nuclear Corporation intends to adopt the same technical scheme as the first phase project, namely CPR1000 improvement technology, to build two million-kilowatt pressurized water reactor nuclear power units with an installed capacity of about 2 million kilowatts.

The Shidaowan Nuclear Power CAP1400 demonstration project in Rongcheng, Shandong is a third-generation large-scale advanced pressurized water reactor technology with an installed capacity of about 3 million kilowatts. In addition, the project plan has been adjusted to "Hualong No. 1" third-generation technology of China Nuclear Group Fuqing Nuclear Power Units 5 and 6, with an installed capacity of about 2 million kilowatts.
