     According to a report on the World Nuclear Engineering Association website on March 26, Russia approved Atomic Energy's investment plan for 2016-2018, intending to invest 11.2 billion rubles (US $ 144 million) in the next three years for the construction of small floating nuclear power plants (FNPP) and its subsidiary Infrastructure (2.8 billion in 2016, 5.4 billion in 2017, and 3.1 billion in 2018). The total funding for the construction of the FNPP project will reach 37.4 billion rubles. Commissioning of floating nuclear power plants will officially begin in 2019.


One billion rubles ($ 14.5 million) in 2016 total funding will be drawn from the federal budget. Chukotka Autonomous Regional Chief Executive Kopin said that the entire project will be coordinated by the federal, regional, municipal governments and economic departments. Pavel Ignatov, the head of Russia Atomic Energy's strategy and special project management, said that the generator set was manufactured in early 2018 and shipped to the site, and then the construction of main facilities, including offshore berths, will be completed in 2019.
