The nuclear energy industry is open and transparent

From uranium mining, uranium purification and conversion and enrichment, fuel element manufacturing, nuclear power plants under construction, post-processing, and nuclear technology applications, the entire nuclear energy industry has "collectively unveiled" for the first time since the nuclear industry was established 60 years ago and nuclear power has been developed 30 years ago Take public-facing open events to unprecedented heights.

In the nearly two weeks from July 27 to August 7, the National Nuclear Safety Administration, National Energy Administration, National Defense Science and Industry Administration “sit in line” guidance, China National Nuclear Corporation, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, Guodian Investment Group, Huaneng Group "Taiwan" organization, the public open day activities of the broad public participation is setting off a wave of "nuclear" nationwide. Through "dialogue and answering questions" and "experiences and visits", the public has a close contact with, understands China's nuclear energy industry chain, feels and understands nuclear safety, and has formed a good top-down interactive communication mechanism.

After the Fukushima accident in 2011, nuclear energy and nuclear power faced a huge crisis of trust in China. The nuclear discoloration of the public was more obvious, more questions were raised about nuclear energy and nuclear power, and demands for nuclear safety were also stronger. For a long time since then, public acceptance has become a key factor affecting the healthy development of nuclear energy. Is nuclear power safe or not? Will inland nuclear power pollute rivers? How to dispose of used fuel in nuclear power plants? Will the natural environment be affected after the decommissioning of nuclear power plants? A series of questions lie ahead of the nuclear energy industry: how to answer the public, how to make the public aware and understand nuclear safety culture, how to cultivate a sunny and transparent public opinion environment for the development of nuclear energy undertakings ... from government authorities to industry associations, associations, and enterprises When it comes to the media, it is clear that the public culture cannot be passed, and transparency and openness cannot be achieved, and nuclear culture is still a mysterious culture.

Nuclear power is clean and efficient, and is a typical green energy source. In the process of rapid urbanization and industrialization, China is facing the reality of the deterioration of the ecological environment, the depletion of energy resources, and the pressure of carbon emission reduction tasks. Scientific development and green development require the use of the least resources to generate maximum energy efficiency, while minimizing environmental costs. The country clearly recognized the advantages of nuclear power, made a decision to develop nuclear power efficiently under the premise of safety, and further clarified the medium and long-term strategy for nuclear power development, that is, by 2020, the installed nuclear power capacity will reach 58 million kilowatts, and the installed nuclear power capacity will be under construction. Reached 30 million kilowatts. In the future, the scale of nuclear power installations will continue to expand, not only along the coast, but inland areas lacking resources and energy will rely on nuclear power to solve problems. Therefore, from the initial restart of nuclear power in 2012 to the real ice-breaking in 2015, the nuclear energy industry has taken nuclear safety science and public communication as the key prerequisite for industrial development, and conducted various forms of exploration and attempts, such as nuclear power micro tourism, nuclear power caravans Although walking into the community, nuclear power science popularization knowledge contest, popular science knowledge turning into teaching materials, public open day activities, etc., although sporadic, it has accumulated valuable experience.

This year's centralized opening-up activities have been carried out halfway. The industry believes that corporate innovation in models has already begun to emerge, and different methods may produce different effects or may have consistent results. The key is that through these activities, we can sum up experience and check for omissions. This will enable public communication from one level to another and increase the stamina for China's nuclear energy development.
