Xu Yuming, deputy secretary-general of China Nuclear Energy Industry Association, said at the 11th China Nuclear Energy International Conference on May 21 that 2015 is the key year for China's nuclear power restart. It is expected that 4 to 6 nuclear power units will be approved and will be operational by the end of the year The total installed capacity of the unit will reach 30 million kilowatts.

Xu Yuming said that up to now, China has 52 nuclear power units in operation, under construction and planned construction, of which 23 have been put into operation, with a total installed capacity of 21.4 million kilowatts. China's nuclear power plants are distributed in 8 provinces and 13 nuclear power bases.

According to the plan, by 2020, China's nuclear power installed capacity will reach 58 million kilowatts, and the capacity under construction will exceed 30 million kilowatts.

"This means that by 2020, China will have to build at least 35 million kilowatts of new nuclear power generating units. On average, 5 to 6 units will be started each year, and the annual new investment will be about 100 billion yuan." Xu Yuming said that the future autonomy of nuclear power technology will be The key link for China's nuclear power industry to grow bigger and stronger.
