On May 4, 2014, Fujian Ningde Nuclear Power Plant Unit 2 was officially put into commercial operation; on May 13, Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant Unit 2 passed the 168-hour trial operation test, which has the main conditions for commercial operation. So far, the total number of nuclear power generating units in operation in China has reached 20, with an installed capacity of 18127.58 MWe.

I. Nuclear Power Production in the Quarter

累计 In the second quarter of 2014, the country's cumulative power generation was 1,324.710 billion kwh, and the cumulative nuclear power generation was 29.386 billion kwh, accounting for approximately 2.22% of the country's cumulative power generation. Compared with coal-fired power generation, nuclear power is equivalent to reducing the burning of standard coal by 9.429 million tons, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 24.714 million tons, reducing sulfur dioxide emissions by 80,200 tons, and reducing nitrogen oxides by 69,800 tons.

累计 The accumulated nuclear power generation in this quarter was 29.386 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 10.10% from the first quarter of 2014 and an increase of 15.81% from the same period in 2013. Cumulative grid-connected electricity was 27.6 billion kWh, an increase of 9.81% from the first quarter of 2014, and an increase of 15.64% from the same period of 2013.

II. Safety Production of Nuclear Power in the Quarter

第二 In the second quarter of 2014, each operating nuclear power plant strictly controlled the operational risks of the generating units, and continued to maintain safe and stable operation. There were no international nuclear incident classification (INES) level 1 or above operations. There were no major production safety incidents, environmental incidents, radiation pollution incidents, no fire and explosion accidents, and no occupational disease hazard accidents in each operating nuclear power plant.

Third, radioactive effluent and environmental monitoring

In accordance with national environmental protection regulations and environmental radiation monitoring standards, and in accordance with the emission limit approved by the management department, each operating nuclear power plant has strictly controlled the emissions of radioactive effluents, and has effectively monitored the surrounding environment of nuclear power plants. The results of environmental monitoring in the first quarter showed that the emissions of radioactive effluents from all operating nuclear power plants were far below the national standard limits. The monitoring data showed that the measured ambient air absorbed dose rate was within the fluctuation range of the local radiation level.
