On June 4, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the state of environmental quality. The meeting pointed out that the development of China's nuclear power in the past 30 years has been relatively smooth, healthy and safe. As of today, China has a total of 19 nuclear power plants built and put into commercial operation, 29 nuclear power plants under construction, and a total of 48, which is already among the best in the world. In general, the quality of China's nuclear power plants under construction has been effectively controlled, and the nuclear power plants that have been operating have maintained relatively good safety performance. There have been no second-level or higher operating events in the past 30 years, and the quality of the ionizing radiation environment around nuclear power plants has remained stable and kept within the fluctuation range of natural background.
