At 00:04 on May 31, the fuel assembly of the first group of Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit 1 was successfully loaded into the core, which marked the unit's transition from engineering construction to trial operation, a key step on the road to commercial transportation .

With the first introduction of the core of the first nuclear fuel assembly, nuclear power plants will enter a more stringent state of nuclear safety control. During the loading process, a total of 157 new nuclear fuel assemblies will enter the reactor core accurately and safely. It is expected that the entire nuclear fuel loading process will last 7 days.

In the first furnace charging arrangement, Fuqing Nuclear Power took the Service Division of the Maintenance Department as the main fuel operation, and multiple departments participated in the three shifts. In the subsequent charging process, all personnel will strictly follow the charging procedures and carefully operate under the careful organization of the charging leadership group. They will be meticulous, cautious, not irritable, and not aggressive, and will steadily promote the first furnace unit 1 loading.

Earlier, Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit 1 passed the nuclear safety review and supervision of the National Nuclear Safety Administration, and officially obtained the "First Loading Approval Letter" issued by the National Nuclear Safety Administration on May 30, marking that the unit has the first Basic conditions of materials.

It is reported that the planned installed capacity of the Fuqing nuclear power plant project is 6 million kilowatt-class pressurized water reactor nuclear power units, which are planned and constructed in phases. Among them, two million-kilowatt nuclear power units were built in the first phase of the project. After the completion of the first phase of power generation, at least 1,600 tons of carbon dioxide and 100,000 tons of coal for thermal power generation can reduce ash, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide emissions.
