This series of software includes seven major components of reactor physical design, shielding and source design, thermal hydraulics and safety analysis, fuel element design, system and equipment design, nuclear power plant operation support and engineering management, covering three generations of nuclear power R & D And the main software required for design, as well as nuclear power plant operation support software such as nuclear power replacement, online detection, and emergency response.


"It can be said that this set of software has realized the full integration of nuclear power engineering design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning, and operation. It is tailored to the characteristics of the third-generation nuclear power of 'Hualong No. 1' and will be a complete set of China's autonomous nuclear motors.  The degree of nuclear power software autonomy is a weight to measure a country's independent innovation capability, and it is also an important basis for judging whether China can enter a nuclear power country from a nuclear power country. However, for a long time, the lack of key software for nuclear power has become a soft underbelly for China's nuclear power to “go global”.


Based on more than 50 years of experience in the nuclear industry, during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, China National Nuclear Corporation and Tsinghua University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Shanghai Jiaotong University and other scientific research institutes gathered wisdom to develop a set of nuclear power series software with China's independent intellectual property rights, packaged Name it NESTOR.


According to reports, NESTOR contains a total of 68 pieces of software, which have been successfully used in the research and development and engineering design of "Hualong One" and the engineering design of multiple export nuclear power projects. Some of the software has been widely used in Fangjiashan, Fuqing, and Tianwan. The promotion and application of each nuclear power plant has brought good economic and social benefits, and it has made a reserve for technology transfer to foreign countries.


Yu Peigen, deputy general manager of China Nuclear Group, said that R & D personnel will further improve software functions based on the current version of the software.
