On November 2, the "Second Forum on Nuclear Energy Safety Technology" was successfully held in Hefei, Anhui. More than 30 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Third World Academy of Sciences attended the forum. At the same time, the forum invited more than 300 well-known experts and scholars from more than 100 units from the National Energy Administration, the National Defense Technology Industry Administration, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the United States, the European Union, Canada, Japan, and South Korea.


Last year, when President Xi Jinping attended the 3rd Nuclear Safety Summit, he pointed out: "Strengthening nuclear safety is a continuous process. We must adhere to a rational, coordinated and progressive view of nuclear safety, and bring the nuclear safety process into a healthy and sustainable development track." This forum Focusing on the natural science issue of "nuclear energy safety", the social issue of "public perception" and the economic issue of "sustainable development", we jointly plan the scientific, sustainable and inclusive development of nuclear energy in China.


 The forum was initiated by the Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the meeting was divided into two parts, a general meeting and a special meeting, which lasted for 3 days. In the general meeting of the day, nine experts from home and abroad discussed hot issues such as the practice of nuclear safety culture, nuclear energy technology research, safety improvement in the post-Fukushima era, and inland nuclear power and nuclear power going out. In addition, the guests also visited a comprehensive experimental platform for high-current neutron sources and radiation technology, a comprehensive experimental platform for liquid heavy metal circuits and materials technology, and a comprehensive experimental platform for nuclear and radiation safety simulation. In the next two days of special meetings, participating experts will also conduct special discussions on topics such as nuclear energy software autonomy and advanced nuclear energy systems.
