Yu Zhengsheng summarized the work of the CPPCC in the past year from eight aspects. Yu Zhengsheng pointed out that 2014 is the first year of comprehensively deepening reforms and a key year to complete the 12th Five-Year Plan. The overall requirements of the CPPCC work are to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the 2nd and 3rd Plenary Sessions of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, implement the spirit of important speeches of the internship of Comrade Jinping, hold high the banner of patriotism and socialism, and adhere to the two major congresses of solidarity and democracy. Yu Zhengsheng emphasized that the Third Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China clearly put forward the general goal of comprehensively deepening reform. Entrusted by the Standing Committee of the Twelfth National Committee of the CPPCC, Han Qide reported to the General Assembly on the status of proposals since the first session of the CPPCC. Since the 1st session of the 12th CPPCC, members of the CPPCC, participating units of the CPPCC, and special committees have submitted a total of 5884 proposals, and after review, 5403 have been filed. The proposal is rich in content and highly targeted. Through the handling of the proposal, many opinions and suggestions were adopted and implemented or reflected in relevant national policies, development plans and departmental work, which promoted the scientific and democratic decision-making and promoted the party and the state. Career development has played an active role and demonstrated the ability and level of the new CPPCC members to perform their duties. As of February 20, 2014, 5,396 reconsideration proposals had been processed, and the reconciliation rate was 99.8%.
